Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso de Amaral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaime Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luiz Fabiano Freire to strike the kick off in the second half. Inácio Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manoel Oliveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Guarani FC's Gildo Lopes got a free kick in the 77th minute. If Luiz Fabiano Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manoel Oliveira having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Luiz Fabiano Freire in the 87th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Luiz Fabiano Freire received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jaime Tróia came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Fabiano Freire slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, Rubens Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, Pochica SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fabiano Freire came free, but Jaime Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Guarani FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pochica SC.
