After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Hélio Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dragões do Sul's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélio Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Félix having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Trocana's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Rossi came free, but João Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dragões do Sul's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Moura, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hélio Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. João Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Dragões do Sul's zone, Douglas Vander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldinho Moura came out of the goal and Douglas Vander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitinho Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Thanks to some nice moves Henrique Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 52nd minute, which Osvaldinho Moura however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Sarmento during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute, one of Trocana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Trocana. Nicolas Peixoto placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Trocana's Douglas Vander got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Wágner Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trocana's João Félix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Coutinho in the 81st minute of play. João Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Coutinho in the 82nd minute of the match. Dragões do Sul's Osvaldinho Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Vander in the 87th minute of play. João Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, Rubinho Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
