Spectators: 7239 (Terracing: 5431, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sandrinho Vargas made the kick off which started today's match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinícius da Mata in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Bezerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Reis in the 6th minute of play forced Calogeras SC's goalkeeper Zé Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandão Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Zé Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mattosinhos FC's Vinícius da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Mattosinhos FC's Fernandão Eger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Bezerra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Mattosinhos FC's Fernandão Eger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Ronaldinho Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cido Aguiar hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After 21 played minutes, Calogeras SC's João Paulo de Amorim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nestor Queirós came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calogeras SC reached it. 24 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calogeras SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mattosinhos FC the free kick. After 25 minutes of play, Mattosinhos FC's Vinícius da Mata made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Bezerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Mattosinhos FC booed when Calogeras SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mattosinhos FC's Vinícius da Mata in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Calogeras SC's goalie prevented a goal. Zé Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandão Eger in the 34th minute of play. Fernandão Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Bezerra having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Valdomiro Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mattosinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdomiro Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandão Eger in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Calogeras SC's zone, Ronaldinho Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Bezerra came out of the goal and Ronaldinho Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Calogeras SC's Zé Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Eger in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Fernandão Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mattosinhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernandão Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Valdomiro Reis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Bezerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fernandão Eger made the kick off in the second half. The referee felt a red card was in order, 52 minutes into the game, when João Paulo de Amorim put in a rough tackle. In the 53rd minute, João Paulo de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute of the match Valdomiro Reis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Bezerra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Calogeras SC defense, Fernandão Eger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Bezerra. The Calogeras SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Bezerra should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Valdomiro Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mattosinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdomiro Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vinícius da Mata's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Eger in the 64th minute of play forced Calogeras SC's goalkeeper Zé Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elói Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nestor Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Sena in the 76th minute of play. Zé Bezerra was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Vinícius da Mata capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Vinícius da Mata really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Elói Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Lucas in the 85th minute of play forced Calogeras SC's goalkeeper Zé Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattosinhos FC's Vinícius da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernandão Eger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Bezerra having to make a save. In the 91st minute Fernandão Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Eger in the 94th minute of play forced Calogeras SC's goalkeeper Zé Bezerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattosinhos FC played a much better game than Calogeras SC and deserved their victory. The Calogeras SC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
