But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Vianna couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Tamboara SS's Ciro Vianna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdir Figueiredo. Valdir Figueiredo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 87th minute of the match, Carlos Alberto Penha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valdir Figueiredo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ciro Vianna struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Valdir Figueiredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tamboara SS.
