An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Medeiros in the 9th minute of play forced AS Figueiredo's goalkeeper Dagoberto Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When AS Figueiredo's Natanael Montenegro in 12 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Romário Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half AS Figueiredo were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Natanael Montenegro made a kick off. Guaxinduva's Umberto Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Montenegro in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, one of Guaxinduva:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guaxinduva. Romário Hoffmann was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. AS Figueiredo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Romário Hoffmann scored 1-3 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Umberto Pinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Guaxinduva booed when AS Figueiredo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamílton Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Fernando Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Guaxinduva's Umberto Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Hoffmann in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the game, AS Figueiredo's Douglas Patriciu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Umberto Pinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. When the final whistle sounded AS Figueiredo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Guaxinduva.
