Alfredo de Godoy ran back to his position shaking his head. Franklin Mangueira hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Alex Meira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rony Santana. Gurihu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, João Francisco da Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rony Santana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32ndth minute of the game Ronaldão Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gurihu's Rony Santana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Alfredo de Godoy put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Rony Santana. If Elias Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rony Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gurihu's zone, João Francisco da Mata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rony Santana came out of the goal and João Francisco da Mata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rony Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Gurihu's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo de Godoy came free, but Rony Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Gurihu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caldas were winning 0-3.

Gurihu's Rony Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Gurihu from getting a goal against them. Jorginho Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Gurihu's zone, Alfredo de Godoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rony Santana came out of the goal and Alfredo de Godoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jorginho Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caldas's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Gurihu defense, Alfredo de Godoy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rony Santana. The Gurihu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rony Santana should have stopped the shot. Gurihu's Rony Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Tróia in the 67th minute of play. Wágner Prata struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Carlinhos Marinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gurihu. After having played for 72 minutes, Alfredo de Godoy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caldas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo de Godoy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo de Godoy who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Rony Santana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rony Santana made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Alfredo de Godoy sent off a good shot on target. Rony Santana was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but João Francisco da Mata showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 77 minute of play. Rony Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 84 minutes into the match, Gurihu's goalkeeper Rony Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo de Godoy.
