The supporters of Grupiara booed when Aclimação FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Aclimação FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Catarinense came free, but André Luís do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Ribeiro in the 11th minute of play forced Aclimação FC's goalkeeper André Luís do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Grupiara's goalkeeper Luisão Nóbrega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Jacinto. After a rather tough play, Grupiara's Ronaldo Catarinense got a free kick in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Aclimação FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Catarinense came free, but André Luís do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Nóbrega having to interfere. If Elias Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Ronaldo Catarinense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute Elias Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elias Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís do Vale having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldo Catarinense in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luís do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 38 minutes Aclimação FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aloísio Mello who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Grupiara's corner Aloísio Mello fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and André Luís do Vale quite easily take care of the ball. Ronaldo Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís do Vale having to interfere. Elias Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Durval Jacinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís do Vale having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Zé Pedro Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Luís do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luís do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Ribeiro in the 77th minute of play. If Roberto Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Aclimação FC's André Luís do Vale got control of the ball when Ronaldo Catarinense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ronaldo Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but André Luís do Vale made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Aclimação FC's zone, Elias Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís do Vale came out of the goal and Elias Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronaldo Catarinense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of André Luís do Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 95th minute Elias Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
