After 10 played minutes Maguari got a freekick which was hit by Willian Guerra. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Marcus Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Gonçalo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Saldanha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronaldão Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Túlio Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldão Massa in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Enio Soares notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of São Gonçalo FC's Túlio Maranhense. Túlio Maranhense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fernandinho Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrão Bezerra in the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of São Gonçalo FC booed when Maguari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willian Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pedrão Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the São Gonçalo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Fernandinho Urbano didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when São Gonçalo FC's Marcus Saldanha shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Pedrão Bezerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fernandinho Urbano came out and tried to block the shot, but Pedrão Bezerra slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Zé Pedro Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Felippe Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Maguari getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Zé Pedro Mandrak hit a great ball. Marcus Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Urbano having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldão Massa to make the kick off. Marcus Saldanha's late challenge caught a Maguari's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcus Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. After 53 played minutes São Gonçalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Saldanha. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enio Soares got free with Túlio Maranhense in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Túlio Maranhense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Enio Soares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Túlio Maranhense. That made the score 2-2 in the 60 minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Maguari's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Bezerra came free, but Fernandinho Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felippe Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandinho Urbano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute Ronaldão Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enio Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Túlio Maranhense made a huge save. 90 minutes into the match, São Gonçalo FC's goalkeeper Túlio Maranhense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Pedro Mandrak. A collision led to Maguari getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Ronaldão Massa hit a great ball. Amauri Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The São Gonçalo FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Maguari's performance. The match ended with a win for Maguari.
