But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cido Veloso couldn't finish the play. Amílton Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Celso Gaúcho hit a great ball. Diego de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the FC Barcelona defense, Cido Veloso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amílton Penha. The FC Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amílton Penha should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Cido Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaja's supporters rose to their feet, but Cido Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílton Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fernando Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Diego de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego de Almeidas short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Amílton Penha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Raimundo Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Cido Veloso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amílton Penha, passed just outside the right post. Amílton Penha was a little too slow when Allan Vieira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-4. Raimundo Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
