The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Edwiges's zone, Jorge Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Luz came out of the goal and Jorge Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jorge Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Luz having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Jesus kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucas Luz. That made the score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. If Jorge Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Elder Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jorge Costa came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Aribao AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Costa couldn't finish the play. Lucas Luz made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Michel Pitta sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Jorge Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucas Luz was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Aribao AD were the better team. Aribao AD's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
