The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Emílio Cosme dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juarês Alvarenga, 1-0. Emílio Cosme struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Juarês Alvarenga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piripiri. Feiticeiro's Juarês Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Lopes in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Conrao Agrelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Krisztián Kováts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederico Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrao Agrelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Krisztián Kováts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Corrêa having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Humberto Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Emílio Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Piripiri's goal looked a bit too open when Krisztián Kováts came free, but Frederico Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piripiri's Frederico Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krisztián Kováts in the 44th minute of play. Feiticeiro's Conrao Agrelo got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Krisztián Kováts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the match, Feiticeiro's Conrao Agrelo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederico Corrêa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Emílio Cosme sped through Feiticeiro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juarês Alvarenga. Feiticeiro's Krisztián Kováts quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cristian Mazza, made in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 69th minute, Paulo José de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fausto Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute Conrao Agrelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrao Agrelo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frederico Corrêa made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Krisztián Kováts sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Emílio Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Krisztián Kováts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 88 minutes, Conrao Agrelo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Feiticeiro and the Piripiri players grew even worse after the yellow card. Conrao Agrelo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Cosme in the 92nd minute of play forced Feiticeiro's goalkeeper Juarês Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Emílio Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juarês Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdemar Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Piripiri getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Valdemar Mazza hit a great ball. Piripiri's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
