An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Cabral in the 8th minute of play forced Guararapes's goalkeeper Cacá de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Prata in the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Leonel Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 played minutes, Guararapes's Luís Tande shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Humberto Favoretto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guararapes reached it. Thomás Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Humberto Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Prata came free, but Humberto Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Thomás Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Guararapes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomás Rezende couldn't finish the play. Walmir Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmir Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Humberto Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cacá de Andrade came out of the goal and Deivid Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th match minute, Guararapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Meireles to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Walmir Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Dráuzio Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cacá de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernão Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir Prata came free, but Humberto Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cacá de Andrade didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Walmir Prata was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guararapes's goalkeeper Cacá de Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Humberto Favoretto was a little too slow when Tião Meireles got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Walmir Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 67 minutes, Walmir Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guararapes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Prata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's Leonel Moreno got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Leonel Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. When Thomás Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Guararapes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomás Rezende couldn't finish the play. Humberto Favoretto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walmir Prata's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Corujas Anônimas Voadoras's Dráuzio Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cacá de Andrade made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Thomás Rezende scored 2-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Favoretto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Humberto Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmir Prata in the 91st minute of the match. Deivid Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guararapes played a much better game than Corujas Anônimas Voadoras and deserved their victory. The Corujas Anônimas Voadoras players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
