Wellington Eger was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edson Berger during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Maringá F.C. were furious when Moisés Vinhas was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Maringá F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Silas Arruda made the kick off in the second half. Maringá F.C.'s Wellington Eger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Maringá F.C. from getting a goal against them. After having played for 56 minutes, Silas Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maringá F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Silas Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Wellington Eger successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Wellington Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anísio Veiga in the 62nd minute. Maringá F.C.'s Túlio Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Maringá F.C.'s Francisco Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Güneş Dalokay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Wellington Eger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anísio Veiga in the 73rd minute. Dênis Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Güneş Dalokay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Güneş Dalokay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. Túlio Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Annapolis EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
