The supporters of Sporting Clube Paulista booed when Argola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernani Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júnior de Andrade got free with Iurie Velicu in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Júnior de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iurie Velicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júnior de Andrade in the 97th minute.
