Geovanni Munhoz made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Emanuel Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. Raí Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Cléber Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raí Sena struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Cléber Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aribice. After some careless play in the Espinhos FC defense, Silas Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cléber Vale. The Espinhos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cléber Vale should have stopped the shot. Tião Trevisan hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Luisinho Vergílio struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Geovanni Munhoz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espinhos FC. Espinhos FC's attentive Emanuel Gaspar managed to snatch the ball when Sílvio Luís Valladares made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. Aribice's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Zé Paraíba scored to the left of an out of position Geovanni Munhoz, making the score, 1-1. In the 30th minute, Emanuel Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonas Pontes's late challenge caught a Aribice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Pontes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Espinhos FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jonas Pontes hit a great ball. Emanuel Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Emanuel Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovanni Munhoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silas Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silas Castro was the one to do the kick off. Tião Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Zé Paraíba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geovanni Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Zé Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovanni Munhoz having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Espinhos FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Aribice had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
