Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sandro Rocha started the match with the kick off. Nelsinho Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gugu Prado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manuel Vergílio went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Rabicho booed when Cancela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rabicho's Sandro Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelsinho Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Prado having to interfere. José Maria Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandro Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Erivaldo Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rabicho's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nestor Moraes's late challenge caught a Rabicho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cancela's Nestor Moraes got a free kick in the 26th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Nelsinho Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cancela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gugu Prado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Vergílio's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Paranaense in the 42nd minute of play forced Rabicho's goalkeeper Gugu Prado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Manuel Vergílio made a precise shot to the right of Gugu Prado. Rabicho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 47 minutes into the game, Cancela's Nelsinho Paranaense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gugu Prado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Vergílio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Sandro Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Erivaldo Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nelsinho Paranaense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Gugu Prado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 78 minutes, Nelsinho Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cancela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Rabicho's Gugu Prado got control of the ball when Manuel Vergílio tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute Erivaldo Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Erivaldo Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Rabicho's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Vergílio came free, but Gugu Prado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelsinho Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Gugu Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Vergílio in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gugu Prado saved Rabicho from getting behind. If Nelsinho Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cancela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
