Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ouricana's João Pedro Queirós started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ouricana's Edmundo Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Veiga in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute Luizão Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmundo Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vivaldo Machado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundo Tasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Jerônimo da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Nóbrega having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Luizão Veiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eagle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luizão Veiga in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundo Tasso saved Ouricana from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizão Veiga in the 99th minute of play forced Ouricana's goalkeeper Edmundo Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eagle played a much better game than Ouricana and deserved their victory. The Ouricana players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
