In the 14th minute, Jorginho Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Carlos Macedo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Deivid Bertassi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Calheiros SS's Deivid Bertassi got control of the ball when Gláuber Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Calheiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Schmelzer came free, but Deivid Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio Tavares hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. When Michel Sena came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Calheiros SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michel Sena couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the game, Calheiros SS's Jorginho Freire nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Esteves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Naldo Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Naldo Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Maldito Clube booed when Calheiros SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michel Sena was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Calheiros SS's goal looked a bit too open when Gláuber Schmidt came free, but Deivid Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deivid Bertassi came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Maldito Clube's Glauco de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Glauco de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 79th match minute, Maldito Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Tavares to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Calheiros SS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcel Schmelzer was slow to take the kick. During this time Maldito Clube's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Glauco de Carvalho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Deivid Bertassi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
