In the 28thth minute of the game Armandinho Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valparaiso's Jaime Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Léo Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If José Augusto Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olavo Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Léo Ceresso took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiago Gabriel Sarmento. Tiago Gabriel Sarmento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Tiago Gabriel Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Ramalho in the 43rd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Léo Ceresso was the one to do the kick off. Armandinho Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Quintal in the 59th minute of play. Ricardinho Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Claudinho Ramalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tiago Gabriel Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when José Augusto Guedes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Quintal in the 93rd minute of play forced Valparaiso's goalkeeper Jaime Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Valparaiso's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Carvalho came free, but Jaime Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, Valparaiso's Léo Ceresso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Gabriel Sarmento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tiago Gabriel Sarmento came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Valparaiso's Léo Ceresso. But to his dismay, Léo Ceresso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Valparaiso's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
