Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Emerson Furtado kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Emerson Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celsinho Gonçalves in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jaime Faria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Emerson Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costao's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 6 played minutes Valparaiso got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Damião. After a rather tough play, Valparaiso's Claudinho Ramalho got a free kick in the 9th minute. 10 minutes in the game, Celsinho Gonçalves fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jaime Faria having to interfere. Jaime Faria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Furtado in the 12th minute of the match. If Celsinho Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Faria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Claudinho Ramalho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Celsinho Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jaime Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Claudinho Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, Costao's Sidney Rodrigues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Valparaiso's zone, Emerson Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Faria came out of the goal and Emerson Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Celsinho Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Valparaiso's zone, Emerson Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Faria came out of the goal and Emerson Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Valparaiso's Jaime Faria got control of the ball when Celsinho Gonçalves tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 55thth minute of the game Emerson Furtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Valparaiso's Jaime Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Dudu Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valparaiso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costao the free kick. Dudu Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Valparaiso's Jaime Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Furtado in the 57th minute of play. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Emerson Furtado sped through Valparaiso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jaime Faria. Valparaiso's Jaime Faria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Furtado in the 64th minute of play. Jaime Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hudson Cabral in the 70th minute of play. Valparaiso's Dudu Diniz got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Dudu Diniz off the ground. Dudu Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Celsinho Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Jaime Faria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costao. Emerson Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emerson Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Jaime Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Costao fully deserved thier win.
