Cristian Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marcel Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th minute, Vacas do Norte da Malásia's Marcel Ramos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cristian Recife. Cristian Recife yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 36th minute, Benjamim Mineiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 40 played minutes Susto AD got a freekick which was hit by Elano Fantini. Rubens Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo de Medeiros in the 44th minute of the match. Rubens Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Severo in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Caco Soares made a kick off.
