In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany School Soccer's goalkeeper Elder Palmeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Dinei Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Germany School Soccer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dinei Mangueira couldn't finish the play. Laércio Cavalcante's late challenge caught a Germany School Soccer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laércio Cavalcante helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Cuiaba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Germany School Soccer's Arnaldo Castro tried to score from far away in the 14th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Germany School Soccer's Dinei Mangueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elói Luz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Olívio Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Palmeira having to interfere. Elói Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinei Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elói Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Mangueira in the 30th minute of play. Olívio Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Olívio Zanette made a precise shot to the right of Elder Palmeira. Germany School Soccer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Carlos Eduardo de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Cuiaba FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dinei Mangueira was the one to do the kick off. Carlos Eduardo de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Elder Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo de Brito in the 57th minute of play forced Germany School Soccer's goalkeeper Elder Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cuiaba FC's Edinho Vides suffered a concussion after 63 minutes and had to leave the field. Breno Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Germany School Soccer booed when Cuiaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dadá Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute Felippe Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cuiaba FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Cuiaba FC's Zé Paulo Mesquita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 99th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Elder Palmeira but with some difficulty. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cuiaba FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
