Vito Carioca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 19 played minutes Jacuhype FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Chaves. Glauco Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesinha Machado charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Machado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Jacuhype FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cesinha Machado hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Eugênio Quadros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnaldo Sampaio skillfully saved the ball. Vito Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gugu Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cícero Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gugu Lopes was the one to do the kick off. Glauco Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Vito Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacuhype FC's Arnaldo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero Varela in the 60th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caio Sena in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Sampaio saved Jacuhype FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco Mesquita got free with Vito Carioca in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 68 minutes, Gugu Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jacuhype FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th match minute, Penapolis SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. If Glauco Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Lopes in the 83rd minute of play forced Penapolis SS's goalkeeper Vito Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Penapolis SS's Vito Carioca got control of the ball when Glauco Mesquita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Penapolis SS players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
