After a defensive mix-up in Cangas FC's zone, Benedito Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Prata came out of the goal and Benedito Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodriguinho Luz hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute Cido da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Víktor Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinho Zanette in the 35th minute of the match. After 39th play minutes Maurício Macedo shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Dedé Prata and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 43rd minute of the match Lemense EC got a corner. Cangas FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nelsinho Ribeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Lemense EC's corner Nelsinho Ribeiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dedé Prata quite easily take care of the ball. In the 47th minute, Benedito Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The Lemense EC fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Lemense EC's Benedito Borges looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonsinho Montenegro during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adolfo Fernandes missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 62 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Dedé Prata right hand side. Lemense EC's Víktor Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Zanette in the 66th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lemense EC's zone, Cido da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víktor Vinhas came out of the goal and Cido da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonsinho Montenegro got his second yellow card in the match during the 85th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cangas FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! Luiz Paulo Guedes placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Dedé Prata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Macedo in the 90th minute of the match. Maurício Macedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dedé Prata. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurício Macedo ran back to his position shaking his head. There was no doubt that Lemense EC were the better team. Lemense EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
