A collision led to Canaa SS getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Marcelinho Bertassi hit a great ball. Baltazar da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Angelo Fonseca made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionísio Albuquerque got free with Angelo Fonseca in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Canaa SS booed when Ilhinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Telmo Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Téo Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wanderson de Souza was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The Ilhinha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Canaa SS's Angelo Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionísio Albuquerque in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ilhinha's goalkeeper Wanderson de Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Emerson Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Dionísio Albuquerque ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Emerson Albuquerque could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Wanderson de Souza made a huge save. Angelo Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionísio Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dionísio Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Fonseca having to interfere. Ilhinha's Dionísio Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Ilhinha were the better team. Ilhinha's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
