In the 8th minute, Cássio Trigo made a precise shot to the right of Zeca Marques. Fidie SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute, Fidie SS's Jonas Ramalho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafael Sauveur. Rafael Sauveur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 15 minutes into the match, Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper Rafael Sauveur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonas Ramalho. Vanderslaike FC's Nilson Borge got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vanderslaike FC booed when Fidie SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeronimas Gaška in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeca Marques saved Fidie SS from getting behind. Fidie SS's Zeca Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Pernambucano in the 24th minute of play. Jonas Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aloísio Penha succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 33rd playminute. 38 minutes into the match, Jeronimas Gaška had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zeca Marques. Fidie SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeronimas Gaška was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. A collision led to Fidie SS getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Nilson Paes hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Tarcisio Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Miguel Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nilson Borge was the one to do the kick off. Zeca Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeca Baiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Fidie SS's Zeca Baiano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Miguel Pernambucano might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeca Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Pernambucano ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Pernambucano got free with Zeca Marques in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Benjamin Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fidie SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vanderslaike FC the free kick. A collision led to Fidie SS getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Benjamin Antunes hit a great ball. With a little luck, Fidie SS's Zeca Marques got control of the ball when Miguel Pernambucano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jeronimas Gaška who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Zeca Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 67 minutes into the match, Fidie SS's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Borge came free, but Zeca Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute of the match Nelsinho Sena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Sauveur showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zeca Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nilson Paes during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nilson Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Miguel Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanderslaike FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Pernambucano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Vanderslaike FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Antunes came free, but Rafael Sauveur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jonas Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael Sauveur was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Rafael Sauveur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Ramalho in the 88th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Fidie SS's corner Aloísio Penha fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rafael Sauveur quite easily take care of the ball. Rafael Sauveur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Despite being the better team, Vanderslaike FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
