Noel Velloso came out of the goal and Jairo Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jairo Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, Paysandu's Jairo Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noel Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Jairo Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Velloso. Mountain Top FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jairo Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 16th minute Benjamim Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Guilherme da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Paysandu's goal looked a bit too open when Henrique Cruz came free, but Luiz Guilherme da Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Jairo Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 25 played minutes Mountain Top FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrique Cruz. Jairo Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Noel Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme de Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mountain Top FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paysandu the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mountain Top FC's Luiz Guilherme de Queiroz got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jairo Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. If Jairo Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Paysandu's Jairo Amorim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noel Velloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Jano Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paysandu's Jairo Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Benjamim Sampaio made the kick off in the second half. Clemente Furtado's late challenge caught a Mountain Top FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Furtado helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Paysandu getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Clemente Furtado hit a great ball. Luiz Guilherme da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Cruz in the 54th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Mountain Top FC's Benjamim Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Guilherme da Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Jairo Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Noel Velloso. That made the score 1-4 in the 67 minute of play. Jairo Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noel Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 72nd minute Jairo Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jairo Amorim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Noel Velloso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jairo Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Velloso having to interfere. When the match was over Paysandu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mountain Top FC throughout the match.
