A collision led to CR VASCO DA GAMA getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Özer Atasan hit a great ball. Hudson Penha, 3 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Edgar da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Edgar da Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giovani Branco's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Edgar da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Branco in the 10th minute of play. Vincent Ellerman hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 12 minutes of play, SAMPA FC's Giovani Branco made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar da Silveira was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th match minute, CR VASCO DA GAMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind CR VASCO DA GAMA's goalkeeper Edgar da Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Giovani Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar da Silveira. CR VASCO DA GAMA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovani Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of CR VASCO DA GAMA booed when SAMPA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Fantini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Edgar da Silveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovani Branco went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. A hard shot 37 in the game by Vítor Quintal from a close distance when the talented Juarês Oliveira managed to make a qualified save. SAMPA FC's players were relieved. Attila Till fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Oliveira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SAMPA FC's zone, Vítor Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juarês Oliveira came out of the goal and Vítor Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Giovani Branco made the kick off in the second half. Vítor Quintal might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juarês Oliveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Quintal ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of CR VASCO DA GAMA booed when SAMPA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Branco didn't get a good kick on the ball. SAMPA FC's Juarês Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attila Till in the 56th minute of play. CR VASCO DA GAMA's Edgar da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save CR VASCO DA GAMA from getting a goal against them. Vítor Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani Branco in the 64th minute of play forced CR VASCO DA GAMA's goalkeeper Edgar da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Celsinho Cunha could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Edgar da Silveira however easily saved by the left post. SAMPA FC's Erik Fantini got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Erik Fantini off the ground. In the 74th minute, Celsinho Cunha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAMPA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After some careless play in the SAMPA FC defense, Attila Till kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juarês Oliveira. The SAMPA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juarês Oliveira should have stopped the shot. If Celsinho Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, CR VASCO DA GAMA's Edgar da Silveira got control of the ball when Celsinho Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Wilian Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. SAMPA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 97th minute, SAMPA FC's Celsinho Cunha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. The SAMPA FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SAMPA FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
