An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Pinho in the 3rd minute of play forced Bahia's goalkeeper Tony Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. With his leg Tony Araújo managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Creciuna's Cristian Paiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Tony Loureiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Creciuna's Gonçalo Leme was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Laércio Arruda in the 25th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bahia's Zé Roberto Abreu. Creciuna's Gonçalo Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Högman in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match, Clemente do Nascimento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tony Araújo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Tony Araújo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Paiva got free with Tony Araújo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Laércio Arruda in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Bahia's Zé Roberto Abreu. In the 43rd minute Tony Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gonçalo Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. With a little luck, Bahia's Tony Araújo got control of the ball when Ian Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. But to his dismay, Clemente do Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Tony Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahia's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonçalo Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tony Loureiro came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Bahia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Loureiro couldn't finish the play. Bahia's Tony Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clemente do Nascimento in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Ian Pinho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.
