Jacinto Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Araújo having to make a save. Tony Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Tony Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio Neves's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Costa in the 18th minute of play forced Bahia's goalkeeper Tony Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eduard Pavlišta kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Egídio Neves scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Araújo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd match minute, Luzitania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbson Félix to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Egídio Neves notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Bahia's Tony Araújo. Tony Araújo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th minute, Paulo José Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The wind increased when Jacinto Costa made the kick off in the second half. When Jacinto Costa came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Luzitania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Costa couldn't finish the play. After 56 played minutes Luzitania got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Costa. Egídio Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Tony Araújo made a huge save. Bahia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tony Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquim Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Tony Araújo made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Róbson Batista sent off a good shot on target. Pedrinho Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedrinho Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Pedrinho Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos Varela made in the 87th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Jacinto Costa immediately put the ball in play. Bahia's Tony Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Costa in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Luzitania booed when Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Jacinto Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luzitania's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacinto Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bahia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Pedrinho Netto scored to the left of an out of position Tony Araújo, making the score, 0-7. Luzitania played a much better game than Bahia and deserved their victory. The Bahia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
