Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Republica's Leonel Pombal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Flamengo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto de Sousa came free, but Felippe Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felippe Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Castro in the 8th minute of play. Zeca Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Republica's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho Alcântara came free, but Victor Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamim Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eriberto de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 played minutes Flamengo EC got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Arruda. After 21 played minutes Flamengo EC got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Marinho. 22 minutes into the match, Flamengo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Pombal came free, but Felippe Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Benjamim Castro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Republica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Dráusio Madureira came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Republica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dráusio Madureira couldn't finish the play. Felippe Galvão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonel Pombal's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 31st match minute, Republica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Republica's Victor Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Zonta in the 32nd minute of play. Victor Barral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Célio Vidal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 34 minute of play. If Benjamim Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dagoberto da Mata during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dagoberto da Mata hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Leonel Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Galvão having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Laerte de Salles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felippe Galvão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 63rd match minute, Flamengo EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Zonta to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonel Pombal scored 1-3 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felippe Galvão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Laerte de Salles might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felippe Galvão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laerte de Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. 80 minutes into the match, Laerte de Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felippe Galvão. Flamengo EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laerte de Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Victor Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Vidal in the 84th minute of the match. Laerte de Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Felippe Galvão made a huge save. In the 93rd minute, Paulão Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armandinho Alcântara in the 95th minute of play forced Republica's goalkeeper Victor Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Republica's Laerte de Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Republica's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
