Noel Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Renato Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Joélson das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Periquara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joélson das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute Noel Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Porteiras's Waldemar Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noel Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson das Neves in the 40th minute of play forced Porteiras's goalkeeper Renato Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Waldemar Antunes made a kick off. Periquara's Noel Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Antunes in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Antunes in the 60th minute of play forced Periquara's goalkeeper Noel Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
