In the 8thth minute of the game Dráusio Machado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marinheiro FC's Tiago Alvarenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marinheiro FC's Tiago Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Machado in the 9th minute of play. Tiago Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Monteiro in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Fachinal's Dráusio Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Alvarenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfredo Falcão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dráusio Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Alvarenga having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Alfredo Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrício França got free with César Pinheiro in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Marinheiro FC's zone, Víktor Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Alvarenga came out of the goal and Víktor Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dráusio Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Fachinal's Víktor Monteiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Alvarenga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marinheiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabrício França was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dráusio Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Víktor Monteiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tiago Alvarenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Dráusio Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fachinal's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráusio Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Alvarenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fachinal's Víktor Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fachinal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Tiago Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Valladares in the 96th minute of play. The Marinheiro FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Fachinal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
