Norberto Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carbonita SS's Norberto Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Cunha in the 18th minute of play. Norberto Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Roberto Neto came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Carbonita SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Neto couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Yuri Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norberto Fontes was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Elivélton Rossi made a great header on Carbonita SS's corner, it was just that Cocao's Vivaldo Borges managed to reach the ball for a save.
