The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Matos in the 5th minute of the match. After having played for 11 minutes, Abel Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GAINO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th match minute, Tambahu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Joel Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. With an all-out effort, GAINO's Natanael Arantes threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abel Martins, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Abel Martins came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the GAINO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Martins couldn't finish the play. Zé de Souza struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Natanael Arantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GAINO. 22 minutes into the match, GAINO's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Salgado came free, but Joel Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Matos in the 23rd minute of play forced GAINO's goalkeeper Joel Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to GAINO getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Osmar Cosme hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Tambahu's Mateus Salgado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Arruda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joel Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Mangueira in the 30th minute of the match. Natanael Arantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson Carioca in the 35th minute. GAINO's Abel Martins was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 40th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some careless play in the Tambahu defense, Christiano Botelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Natanael Arantes. The Tambahu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Natanael Arantes should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Mateus Salgado made the kick off in the second half. If Abel Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tambahu's Natanael Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christiano Botelho in the 58th minute of play. When Zé de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the GAINO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé de Souza couldn't finish the play. After recieving a nice pass, GAINO's Christiano Botelho tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Christiano Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Salgado in the 66th minute of play forced GAINO's goalkeeper Joel Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Tambahu got a penalty, and Ulysses Ramalho placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Martins during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, Tambahu's Ulysses Ramalho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joel Arruda. Christiano Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christiano Botelho scored 3-2 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Natanael Arantes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Osmar Cosme came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the GAINO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osmar Cosme couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Tambahu's zone, Osmar Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natanael Arantes came out of the goal and Osmar Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that GAINO were the better team. GAINO's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
