Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Mendes in the 3rd minute of play forced Barbalha EC's goalkeeper Manuel Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Barbalha EC's Sandro Koehler got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, João Pedro Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barbalha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Varela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Glauco Arantes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Glauco Arantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Pedro Varela in the 30th minute. Celso Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celso Mendes was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Sport Club João Pessoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Sport Club João Pessoa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, João Pedro Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barbalha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pedro Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barbalha EC's Manoel Custódio got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Barbalha EC's goalkeeper Manuel Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Tinoco. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Manuel Garcia successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Narciso Tinoco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Manuel Garcia. That made the score 0-2 in the 74 minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, João Pedro Varela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Glauco Arantes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Manuel Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute, João Pedro Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the match, Barbalha EC's goalkeeper Manuel Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raí Cosme. After 93 minutes of play, Sport Club João Pessoa's Osvaldinho Sarmento made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manuel Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there!
