To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, Matías Pinho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gold Roaring Lions's Cesinha de Almeida. Cesinha de Almeida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 35 minutes into the match, A.C.LoBaTo Juniors's goalkeeper Romário Recife had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonso Tasso. After having played for 36 minutes, Renan Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold Roaring Lions's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renan Cerezo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Afonso Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Afonso Tasso made a precise shot to the right of Romário Recife. A.C.LoBaTo Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Vasconcelos to make the kick off. Romário Recife made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Tasso in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of Gold Roaring Lions booed when A.C.LoBaTo Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Cerezo struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Romário Recife didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gold Roaring Lions. Renan Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Romário Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romário Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Washington Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, A.C.LoBaTo Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Tasso came free, but Romário Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of A.C.LoBaTo Juniors were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Gold Roaring Lions side.
