Arlindo Pombal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 8th minute. Luzio EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 11 minutes of play, Luzio EC's Arlindo Pombal made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dé Proença was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Jacare SC's goal looked a bit too open when Virgil Brumaru came free, but Dé Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Proença made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Arlindo Pombal sent off a good shot on target. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo Pombal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Sandro Xavier fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzio EC's protests and gave Sandro Xavier a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Luzio EC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Sandro Xavier hit a great ball. After 58 played minutes Luzio EC got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Pombal. Arlindo Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dé Proença having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Sandro Xavier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luzio EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After a rather tough play, Jacare SC's Paulo Rossi got a free kick in the 67th minute.
