The crowd rose to their feet as Breno Pimenta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Diamantino Vidal. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Sapicoa's Diamantino Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Pimenta in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Hugon Juszkowski made a precise shot to the right of Diamantino Vidal. Sapicoa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Diamantino Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breno Pimenta in the 15th minute of play. When Enéas Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Sapicoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Dionísio couldn't finish the play. After 19 minutes of play, Ilheus's Breno Pimenta made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Vidal was left in no man's land by his defense there! 24 minutes into the match, Sapicoa's goalkeeper Diamantino Vidal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Breno Pimenta. If Jean Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Telmo de Sousa notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Ilheus's Domenico Scarinci. Domenico Scarinci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 43 minutes into the match, Ilheus's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte de Senna came free, but Domenico Scarinci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domenico Scarinci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo de Sousa in the 44th minute of the match. Sapicoa's Telmo de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Diamantino Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd match minute, Ilheus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Enéas Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Sapicoa's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Araújo came free, but Diamantino Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
