Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gualter Gomes made the kick off which started today's match. Murillo Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Gualter Gomes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Murillo Souto, 1-0. Atretis's Murillo Souto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Atretis from getting a goal against them. Miritiba's Marcelo Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Coutinho in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Dé Messias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes, Décio Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Miritiba and the Atretis players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Miritiba! Diogo Duarte placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Claudinho Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atretis's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelo Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vágner Coutinho's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Vito Fontes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Murillo Souto made a huge save. In the 32nd minute, Vito Fontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Murillo Souto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Atretis's Enio de Toledo got a free kick in the 36th minute. Miritiba's Digo Dracena shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 37th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Murillo Souto but with some difficulty. In the 40th minute, Digo Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 42 played minutes Atretis got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Pombal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vágner Coutinho to make the kick off. A collision led to Miritiba getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Décio Negri hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Vágner Coutinho in the 55th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a defensive mix-up in Miritiba's zone, Vágner Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Pinho came out of the goal and Vágner Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinho Valladares took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Pinho. Marcelo Pinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 73rd minute, Décio Negri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vágner Coutinho in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcelo Pinho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Claudinho Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Marcelo Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atretis were furious when Sydney Costa was red carded, 92 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 93rd minute, Sydney Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atretis's goalkeeper Murillo Souto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Atretis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Pombal to maneuver through the defense. Miritiba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
