Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benedito Meira started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Almofada's Severino Pirani got control of the ball when Reinaldo Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmundo de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmundo de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Edmundo de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 minutes Ameixas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zézinho Dracena who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Zézinho Dracena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vladimir Jacinto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jorginho Zanette charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorginho Zanette the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, Almofada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho Zanette to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Almofada getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Pedrão Pimenta hit a great ball. Severino Pirani acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 16th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ramón Domingues. If Benedito Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Danilo Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Reinaldo Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Danilo Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severino Pirani was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Danilo Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Severino Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Almofada. Zézinho Dracena stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vladimir Jacinto. 0-1. After the first half Almofada were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reinaldo Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edmundo Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Pirani having to interfere. Horácio Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimir Jacinto having to make a save. Edmundo Coutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Pirani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Almofada's goalkeeper Severino Pirani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Severino Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Coutinho in the 60th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Almofada's zone, Reinaldo Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Pirani came out of the goal and Reinaldo Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Edmundo Coutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmundo Coutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute of the match, Horácio Guerra got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vladimir Jacinto was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo de Azevedo in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Pirani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Almofada getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Roger Loureiro hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Ameixas's Reinaldo Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Reinaldo Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Almofada defense, Edmundo de Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severino Pirani. The Almofada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severino Pirani should have stopped the shot. Vladimir Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When Roger Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almofada's protests and gave Roger Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute, Roger Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
