Matta's Alessandro Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hernani Branco came out of the goal and Paulinho Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Itaguara's Hernani Branco got control of the ball when Paulinho Arruda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Almeida hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Hernani Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Ramos in the 85th minute of the match. Alessandro Ramos scored 4-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hernani Branco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Renan Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Alessandro Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernani Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulinho Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Tales Cosme in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Renan Peres, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. There was no doubt that Matta were the better team. Matta's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
