The referee ignored Galícia-Salvador's protests and gave Robinho Torres a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Robinho Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Régis Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilvan Andrade. Igarape FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Régis Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 10th minute, one of Igarape FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Igarape FC. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Galícia-Salvador. Frédson Rezende stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gilvan Andrade. 0-3. Paulo Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Horácio Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Pinho struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Horácio Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Igarape FC. Robinho Torres got his second yellow card in the match during the 21st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Igarape FC booed when Galícia-Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robinho Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 minutes Galícia-Salvador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zé Augusto Quirino who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 26 minutes, Paulo Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Igarape FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Ramalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Galícia-Salvador's Rafael Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Galícia-Salvador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Paulo Ramalho scored to the left of an out of position Horácio Mangueira, making the score, 1-3. Paulo Ramalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horácio Mangueira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Ramalho ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulo Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igarape FC's Diogo Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Régis Ferraz was the one to do the kick off. Régis Ferraz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Gilvan Andrade made a huge save. Caco Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Gilvan Andrade was a little too slow when Régis Ferraz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-4. After 69 minutes, Zé Augusto Quirino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Igarape FC and the Galícia-Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zé Augusto Quirino hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Hugo Rosado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Gilvan Andrade when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Diogo Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Horácio Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Pinho struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Horácio Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Igarape FC. Horácio Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Régis Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caco Pinho struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Horácio Mangueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
