Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Gilson Proença dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Deivid Mello, 1-0. 6 minutes into the game, Luiz Paulo Pirani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Descoberto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Paulo F.C the free kick. Luiz Paulo Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, São Paulo F.C's Hermínio Pimenta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Arósio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Descoberto's João Paulo Diniz came free and shot a quick shot against goal 13 minutes in the game, fortunately Deivid Mello had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 14th minute Hermínio Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermínio Pimenta scored 1-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arthur Arósio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Hermínio Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 minutes, Gilson Proença mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Descoberto and the São Paulo F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilson Proença to strike the kick off in the second half. When Vivaldo Matos fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Descoberto's protests and gave Vivaldo Matos a yellow card for diving instead. Vivaldo Matos hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Arthur Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Pimenta in the 60th minute of the match. If Gualter Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilson Proença in the 69th minute of play forced São Paulo F.C's goalkeeper Deivid Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Paulo Diniz in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Deivid Mello saved São Paulo F.C from getting behind. In the 83rd minute of the match Descoberto got a corner. São Paulo F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Victor Hames ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Descoberto getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Claudinei Cerezo hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute, Claudinei Cerezo fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, São Paulo F.C's goal looked a bit too open when João Paulo Diniz came free, but Deivid Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deivid Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
