In the 5th minute, Wilson Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Hamílton Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaianazes SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hamílton Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Faria in the 13th minute of play forced Cacatua's goalkeeper Kaká Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurinho Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute Zeca Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 27 minutes of play, Cacatua's Zeca Sá made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilberto Vides was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilson Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gilberto Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Lira during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Severino Lira hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute Wilson Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeca Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Vides having to interfere. If Wilson Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Lira hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Guaianazes SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cacatua were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Neto to make the kick off. Guaianazes SC's Hamílton Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hamílton Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Garcia having to interfere. Zeca Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Vides having to interfere. Hamílton Maciel took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kaká Garcia. Kaká Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Christian Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
