The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rui Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Adolfo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Giovani Nóbrega took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rui Toledo to make any attempt to save it. In the 16th minute, Giovani Nóbrega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rui Toledo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 19 played minutes Vortex FC got a freekick which was hit by Dida de Azevedo. Michel Lira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Rui Toledo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Dida de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute of the match, Giovani Nóbrega tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rui Toledo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vortex FC's César Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Paulo Furlan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rui Toledo came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Paulo Furlan slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 33rd minute. Dida de Azevedo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. Dida de Azevedo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Ademar Bertassi came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Puca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ademar Bertassi couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Vortex FC's goal looked a bit too open when César Dias came free, but Rui Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rui Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giovani Nóbrega in the 42nd minute. Vortex FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when César Dias scored to the left of an out of position Rui Toledo, making the score, 5-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for César Leme to strike the kick off in the second half. César Dias struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Rui Toledo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puca. Giovani Nóbrega scored 6-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Giovani Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. César Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Machado having to interfere. Rui Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. The supporters of Puca booed when Vortex FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giovani Nóbrega in the 69th minute of the match.
