In the 7th minute Yan Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acácio Mello hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Yan Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assembleia's supporters rose to their feet, but Yan Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Eduardo Guedes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enéas Alves charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enéas Alves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Assembleia getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Enéas Alves hit a great ball. A hard shot by João Augusto Koehler from long distance, 18 minutes into the match, got Wilton Maranhense's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Wilton Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Luís Fabiano Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilton Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fabiano Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Wilton Maranhense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Assembleia's Renatinho Lucas got a free kick in the 30th minute. When Renatinho Lucas got the opportunity to take care of a free kick, it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball hit the crossbar and flew out of bounds. The audience was convinced that Yan Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Eduardo Guedes was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Acácio Mello charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Acácio Mello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Acácio Mello hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Renatinho Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Guedes having to interfere. If Renatinho Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. If Renatinho Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Eduardo Guedes came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Assembleia's Renatinho Lucas. But to his dismay, Renatinho Lucas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 58th minute of the match Luís Fabiano Cardoso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilton Maranhense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wilton Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Pimenta in the 59th minute of play. Assembleia's Wilton Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Pimenta in the 61st minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Franklin Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Japecanga SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Assembleia the free kick. Franklin Motta hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Japecanga SS's zone, Luís Gustavo Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Guedes came out of the goal and Luís Gustavo Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 70 played minutes Japecanga SS got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Mello. Carlos Eduardo Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yan Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 72nd minute of the match Acácio Mello completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Acácio Mello a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 81 played minutes Assembleia got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Pernambucano. Renatinho Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Guedes having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Yan Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Assembleia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Japecanga SS the free kick. After 89 played minutes Assembleia got a freekick which was hit by Yan Cunha. 90 minutes into the match, Japecanga SS's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Guedes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renatinho Lucas. In the 92nd minute, Renatinho Lucas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franklin Motta hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Assembleia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
