Japecanga SS's Carlos Eduardo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Aparecido in the 25th minute of play. If Roger Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Eduardo Guedes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roger Tavares's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Carlos Eduardo Guedes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. With his leg Carlos Eduardo Guedes managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Joinville Esporte Clube's Cléber Peixoto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Carlos Eduardo Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Tavares in the 65th minute of play. Joinville Esporte Clube's Betinho Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Pimenta in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Japecanga SS's Carlos Eduardo Guedes got control of the ball when Cléber Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Acácio Mello's late challenge caught a Joinville Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But to his dismay, Cléber Peixoto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Japecanga SS's zone, Roger Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Eduardo Guedes came out of the goal and Roger Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Japecanga SS's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Guedes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 98 in the game by Cléber Peixoto from a close distance when the talented Carlos Eduardo Guedes managed to make a qualified save. Japecanga SS's players were relieved. Joinville Esporte Clube played a much better game than Japecanga SS and deserved their victory. The Japecanga SS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
