The crowd rose to their feet as Chamas do Rio FC's Aníbal Capixaba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júlio Madureira. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. The Chamas do Rio FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Varedao AD's Júlio Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Varedao AD from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute, José Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 33 minutes, Aníbal Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chamas do Rio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Varedao AD's Júlio Madureira got control of the ball when André Luiz das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Rafinha Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varedao AD's protests and gave Rafinha Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Varedao AD getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Rafinha Nunes hit a great ball. Júlio Madureira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aníbal Capixaba showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 39 minute of play.
