Carlos Branco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 8 minutes into the game, Toninho Guerra cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Carlos Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 18 minutes into the match, Mannos's goalkeeper Carlos Branco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toninho Guerra. Toninho Guerra made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 18thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Carlos Branco would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Claudinho Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cotaxe's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 21 played minutes Mannos got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson da Mata. With a little luck, Mannos's Carlos Branco got control of the ball when Toninho Guerra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toninho Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Carlos Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cotaxe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Mannos. Ademar Meireles stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Renatinho Andrade. 2-1. 41 minutes into the match, Mannos's goalkeeper Carlos Branco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toninho Guerra. After having played for 47 minutes, Toninho Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cotaxe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Toninho Guerra made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Guerra in the 54th minute of play forced Mannos's goalkeeper Carlos Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Toninho Guerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Branco was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Tarcisio Diniz struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Carlos Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cotaxe. Oswaldo Mineiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Mannos's Oswaldo Mineiro got a free kick in the 69th minute. Fellipe Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Carlos Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toninho Guerra in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Branco saved Mannos from getting behind. In the 75th minute Toninho Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tarcisio Diniz in the 76th minute of the match. Toninho Guerra took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Branco. Carlos Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toninho Guerra in the 83rd minute of play forced Mannos's goalkeeper Carlos Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Nuno Berger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mannos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cotaxe the free kick. A collision led to Mannos getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nuno Berger hit a great ball. Mannos's Carlos Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Guerra in the 93rd minute of play. Cotaxe's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
